I don'y know what the actual policy is ov SportsBuy but I know certain people are no longer allowed to bid so they do have some standards. I would like for them to MUCH clearer on what those standards are though. Like you said on eBay 3 and you are done.

We do not do auctions, only fixed priced on our store front.

Question is how can someone be allowed to bid without money in their SportsBuy account or a valid credit card on file.

To us, there should never EVER be a non-paying bidder on this site ...... When the bid closes, the payment is taken out immediately. Not sure why they dont do that.

Because Sportsbuy has allowed for bidders to pay via Paypal which wasnt available when I started here on Naxcom so basically this is an out for someone to not pay if they dont want the product.
I have lost a few sales for non payers this way and its very frustrating because now you have to give that buyer a certain amount of time I believe up to 5 days to pay and if they dont you are out money and time that you could have relisted the item.
Once Sportsbuy put in this option I knew there would be problems like this, also when someone say pays 5 days later now you have to wait the standard wait time so if u r a VIP and usually get paid in lets say 3 days now it turns into 8 days because of the 5 days u already waited for payment plus the regular 3 days.

they need to police the bad bidders, but i think sellers just need to roll with it. if you lock everyone into having funds deposited or cc on file to bid, it just thins out an already thin pool of bidders. the vast majority (as in all but one as far as i can recall) of the items i have sold at auction were paid immediately. i have to think that the non-payment, while frustrating, is a relatively rare event. in my experience, the more probable event is a seller not honoring the transaction by either not shipping or reversing.

i agree, i dont have a card on file, but i pay within mins everytime unless the site is messing up. and i buy everyday, i just dont trust giving my card info to anyone not even this site.

so i think making everyone have a card on file would would make it so us good buyers cant bid. but im sure theres a few sellers here on this site that would love to see me gone!! not anytime soon. i have to buy cards everyday its like a drug for me. i do think the non payers should have theres a%^&^%$% kicked up between there eyes.

peace.

Well u can roll with it but let somebody bid and win one of your high end auctions and dont pay I bet u wouldnt be singing the same tune.It may be rare to u but not to me,I feel if u bid u should have the funds period, thats why I got away from all the other sites because like I wrote when I started here they didnt have this option and I never had to deal with this crap.It seems the buyers get all the guarantees but what about us sellers?

ok let me see has this happened to me(buyers not paying} over the 7 years here,,,yes a few times, but i bet the sellers i always buy from wont like it if i cant bid do to having to have a card on file,i always have funds in my account anyways. i would think if sportsbuy fixed the site and handles the crap sellers and buyers with a firm hand everytime then i bet all of us good sellers and buyers woulden't get so pissy and snap at others over there point!

peace.

This is nothing new in the hobby, no matter what site you are on.

Just be happy most pay here.

Could be worse, ebay for example. See all the negatives people are getting slammed with on there now?

Pure Hell.

Bring back card shows.

Actually, if they could get a viable simple PayPal process ... that requires automatice PayPal Payment, if they have zero balance / no credit card .... eBay has the mandatory PayPal option.

The current PayPal process is not smooth for fixed priced sales, either
