Thanks for looking at my cards and I will start buying in 1 week!
Galaxy,
You should put a link to your cards up with your messages. That way we can look at them.

yes you can be but only after i buy from you.. see this is only a list of sellers i have dealt with and liked, this list only means that there are good sellers here and these sellers on this list are a sure thing when bidding ,winning and getting your item in a timley manner. but there are way more great sellers here i would say 80- 90% here are good sellers. but again this is just what i think. i will always be updating list when i buy from a new seller and have the tranaction go smooth. then i put there name here for all to see, and thats good for them the seller and good for buyers wanting to find good sellers, because not everyone here who has 100% should have 100% we all know it.
so its hard to tell who to buy from.
peace.

I'm pretty small beans here, but I have had the same repeat buyer now about 6 times. That has to hold water somewhere. I'm still getting used to the site. I still have trouble understanding how anyone can be selling their cards for .10 and such. It seems to just break even .75 to .50 is the lowest that I can go. But I have listed a ton on here and stuff moves. I only do fixed priced listings.

That's true to a point ... a very small point! But why do people by a Lexus and a Toyota is the same thing? marketing and packaging and where you sell your product determine the price ..... go look at the prices that baseball cards sell on MLB.com .... WOW!!!!!!!
Custumers buy for various reasons but among them is selection and customer service: price is not always near the top and its definately not near the top of hobby buyers. Other factors weigh on buying selections and thats the secret to growing your SportsBuy business.

That isn't true. There isn't a consumer out there who doesn't want to get more for their money , a lot of them just aren't aware of their options. To each is own. I will continue to keep it a hobby and profit off of my knowledge. You can continue to manipulate the market and make money off those with a lack of knowledge. I will continue to advise them against overpaying and I will also educate them on hobby trends which could get them more bang for their buck which they will gladly appreciate.

this is asinine. anybody who makes a dime here basically makes it one way--serving your customers. in a nutshell that means providing the cards they want at a price they agree too. the site has ample search funtions, most listings have multiple sellers to choose from and buyers can make offers, etc. this site empowers buyers considerably while also giving them a guarantee. nobody forces cards into a buyer's cart. they get to see the price of every card and see the total before they check out. it's 100% voluntary. overpaying depends on your frame of reference. i don't get the animous. i think the top sellers here (as long as they operate within the site rules that is) help everyone and make the pie bigger. i don't feel that their success comes at my expense at all. so, to summarize: don't hate the playah.

Your right, price manipulation has always existed. It doesn't mean I have to support it. Anybody who uses Beckett to gauge their prices is asinine and will not survive as the market transitions. Beckett has not reflected accurate pricing for years. The industry is going to loose a lot of supporters and spenders with the loss of UD and Playoff and things will change greatly. To each is own. Good luck.

i only use the beckett to make my self feel good about items i have. when it comes to selling i just throw out a price and it seems i sell lower then i buy at times but all this buying and selling its just for fun for me.
there are just to many reasons why collectors buy and sell. for fun ,for income, ect.

price manipulation? that implies something unethical and you better back that up. listing stuff at around beckett book value and selling it is not price manipulation, it's dealing. and as popular as it is to bash beckett pricing, and as much as people say it is completely irrelevant, i can't seem to negotiate a price for any card at a show w/o beckett book value coming up. sorry, but the pricing in beckett is pretty good on the whole. there are holes in it as there is with any price guide. the job of a dealer is to find those holes and avoid the bad deals while exploiting the good ones. beckett value for a mark sanchez rookie card, probably worthless, for some topps inserts from 2005-2009, pretty reliable. people bash it, but i see countless cards sell on ebay at beckett low price. coincidence, or are a bunch of people basing their bids on some "worthless rag"? as far as transitions go, i just collect baseball. playoff has been gone and i haven't seen any slowdown. and more people bash ud 10x more viciously than the favorite whipping boy that is beckett, so i don't see much drop off from baseball collectors. if anything there will be jubilation. people have sworn off busting ud wax for ages. some of the most horrifying breaks i have ever had came courtesy of upper deck. i'm all for legit criticism of this site and even individual sellers, but i think you're way off here wax. i see it on ebay all the time: more established sellers with good inventory (some names that come to mind are evolution, wolerine24, j-man) have pricing power. they can sell their cards for more and even get more at auction than if i sell the same card and i'm a red star 10+ year seller there. that fact doesn't make me all warm inside, but all they did was deal and build a business. nothing nefarious, no manipulation, just good dealing. btw, people who DON'T do that usually crash and burn pretty quickly.

HOBBY or BUSINESS ?? That's the main point.
To us this is a business, not a hobby! We view things from a business point of view. That is a large part of our success and has been for over 21 years and nearly 10 years selling online. We love the hobby and cards, but this is a business.
If we treated it like a hobby would would no longer be in business.
That's a different point of view from part-time sellers or those who ran/owned a hobby store that is no longer in business.
It's also different from those who sell cards as a hobbist and to recoup the cost of the hobby.
It takes all types to sell on any selling venue and they all compliment each other and help the site grow.
We listened to our online MENTOR is the largest seller on the net. We also listened to other successful online sellers to figure out how best to approach our online business going back to 1999. We have often shared what we have learned so others can grow their business.
We want sellers to grown their business on SportsBuy so all sellers on SportsBuy can grow and increase sales.
We like to hear what others says, but we tend to listen and follow those who have had success. We would like to hear more from the Top 10 sellers if they wish to share their experiences.
