Hey twix!!!! Why dont you tell them to list their cards....You butted in when I did this and if you cant do it for everyone then keep your two sense to yourself, got it....I understand about listing your for sale items on the message board and dont think its right for you to talk to people like that when it doesn't have anything to do with you

I Don't know who Twix is but he sounds right to me! This entire forum is for Sportsbuy.com users. This is not a flea market. This forum was created to improve the experience of Sportsbuy.com.
ALSO, this thread is posted in the WANTLIST section. What part of this thread has anything to do with a WANTLIST? billzy needs to get a Sportsbuy account and post his listings there, then he needs to post his messages in the right sub-forums.
As a PAYING MEMBER of Sportsbuy I do not wish to see this type of activitiy on MY forum. This is not the purpose of this forum and if left unchecked this type of activity will ultimately defeat and ruin the forum.
Also, I don't think flaming is appropriate (john9751) nor should it be tolerated.

John, I didn't tell them to list them because I hadn't read this thread. Now I have. And I of couse agree with Vintage. I think SportsBuy needs to monitor these boards better. They should delete listing from people trying to sell items that are not listed on SportsBuy. And it DOES have something to do with me. Because if SportsBuy has to start charging listing fees because people are selling off site that would stink for all of us that use the site/boards correctly.

Whatever flaming is, whatever.....I am just saying that I get reprimanded the first minute I join the site and these other people that are actually selling on here isn't right and I know that but you dont have to put comments on every single one I wrote....I apologize and with you all's comments I see you took everything out of context. I dont get mad unless I have reason to.....And again, Flaming??????????? Give me a break!!!!!!!!

Okay, perhaps this is not flaming. I apologize for not finding a more accurate term for what is wrong with posts like this one. I find this behavior spiteful and inappropriate. John, you are calling out twix to comment on this post like he must have done previously on one of your own posts. I have looked at the threads in question and find that you still never provided any link to your listings, rather you provided an email address which is seen as a way of communicating and transacting outside of the site. Likewise, this particular poster provided a telephone number instead of a link to his Sportsbuy listings.
Twix is correct that these boards need better moderation and threads like this should simply be removed before any bickering begins.
Secondly, nothing is taken out of context here. The entire context is in this thread. You can not expect everyone reading this particular thread to go back and find all of the other threads that led up to this.
The bottom line is that everyone (new and old members) need to manage this forum responsibly. This forum was created to improve everyone's experience on Sportsbuy and bring our community closer together. In it's short existence this forum has helped me greatly. It is in all of our best interest to act with maturity and responsibility when participating in the forum.
John, I have been a memeber of Sportsbuy for several years and I wholeheartedly welcome you as a new member. If you have any questions or would like help linking your posts to your Sportsbuy listings I would be happy to help, just send a PM.

I totally agree with the need for moderation and improvement. I still don't understand why email addresses are allowed when the forum rules clearly state that you need to link your items. I really don't even see the need for Buyer's wantlist forum anyways. There are already searches that can be done on the whole site and at the seller level. And anytime someone points out the linking to the newbies they get ripped a new one for no reason.

You have a point about the wantlists...the site is very searchable and one would think that wantlists are redundant.
However, since posting my wantlist I have purchased three different lots from sellers. These lots were listed after responding to my wantlist posts. For those of us with very long lists we do not search every card every time. Also, I like to purchase cards in lots and not pay shipping to several different sellers.
Likewise, as a seller, I always browse the wantlists because I have thousands of cards not even listed. When I see someone needs one of these cards I can list it and provide it for them. I also know my inventory very well and when browsing a wantlist I can easily determine if I have any of the cards listed and lead the buyer to my storefront.
I think the wantlists are a step in the right direction to increase sales. What I would really like to see is my wantlist integrated into the general listings and when a seller has a certain number of cards on my list then we could be matched automatically. I do not care to post individual listings for all of the cards I need because many are base and the costs would be prohibitive if I had to pay shipping for every base card I needed.
Regarding the newbies and email addresses I think that the problem is the lack of moderation. Without moderators there is no authority to remove or edit posts.

I am a newbie. First day here. I have seen a number of people who are posting off-site internet addresses. That seems to defeat the whole concept. They definitely need a moderator.

No, they need to give the VIPs mod status, since non of their employees seem to do it. They had mentioned something about this earlier. They just need to come up with a suitable code of contact to ensure that nobody goes powertripping with it. There is almost always a VIP on here, if not more. It would be nothing to take care of this sort of thing. I just don't think they should compel us to be on hear a certain amount of time as we all have better things to be doing.
I wouldn't mind helping out with this sort of thing when I am here, but I do not wish to be required to be here. That's what I am saying.
